“The Greater Moncton Chorale is the largest choral organization in New Brunswick, on Canada's east coast. We used paper forms and calling lists to manage choir operations in the early years, then moved to a combination of digital tools (Dropbox, MailChimp, Excel, etc.). “Choir Genius has been a blessing to our choir! When I arrived at my new job a year ago, email was the only technology being used. I would receive many emails saying "I forgot the dates, I lost your message, or what are we singing Sunday again?". The Choir Genius app came to my rescue. I researched many other apps, but this one had exactly what I needed (and more) with a great price.

My choir consists of 32 members ranging from the ages of 24 to late 70's. At least 90% are 50 years old and older (including myself). Once I purchased Choir Genius, I started to upload documents, such as cantor schedules, choir schedules, performance days and times, planning guides for weekend masses and so much more. It was really easy and it went much faster than I thought it would be. SO SIMPLE. All in one place, you can add everything you need for a song; Title, label (octovo /solo,) SATB or variation, notes about the song, time of year (Christmas, Advent, Lent) any PDF, MP3, or video links etc. After doing a few, I could complete 1 song in less than 25 seconds. (I had PDF's and MP3's ready to upload before starting to add to Choir Genius.) I have almost 200 music selections already available. It's all set up for you to fill in the blanks and upload your documents. I make Set Lists for each weekend mass. I titled them by date, click on the songs you want for the mass, hit add and save. Now they choir can go to a specific Sunday mass and review all the songs we will be singing. When that mass is complete I delete the set list and move on to the next.

After I had most of it completed and ready to be used, I sent invitations for the choir to login a few days before our first practice. Again it was very easy. Due to the age of my group, I went ahead and gave them their log in name (first.last name) and made a group password to get them into the app. I took about 15 minutes of my practice to review the app and it's features. 95% of the choir had already logged in on their own and was practicing their upcoming music, which they found on the dashboard. Yea!

The previous email questions that the choir members would send to me, stopped. After clicking on the Choir Genius app, the dashboard would open up and there was everything they needed on the home screen. My choir members, of all ages, have absolutely loved this app to practice their music with, especially the cantors and soloists. The organization of documents, music, and set lists is priceless to our group. Choir Genius has been THE BEST DECISION I have made during my 1st year as the Director of Music.
