How choral singing teaches teamwork, leadership and perseverance.

Dr. Emily Williams Burch teaches educators how to teach music! In this interview, she shares the innovative teaching techniques she’s developed to empower students to develop teamwork, leadership and perseverance through choral singing.

“Singing brings us together, but through singing, we learn about socializing and service too,” says Dr Burch.

She reveals how she went about founding a nonprofit called Rise Outreach, to offer programs for organizations, community centers and schools that don't have music programs. She gives us insight into the importance of business structure when founding a new choir to allow for maximum flexibility and ownership in the long term.
